The CMP Board of Directors is currently comprised of 9 individuals who share the same common interest: advancing marksmanship in the United States through safety, competitions and program opportunities. Though their goals are mutual, they come from an array of backgrounds – bringing with them their own unique experiences for the betterment of the organization. This article is about work ethic and how an 8-year-old decided what she wanted to do with her life and has worked every day to make that dream come true. Register Now for the 2023 National Matches at Camp Perry
Registration for the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) 2023 National Trophy Pistol and Rifle Matches is officially open! The annual event, held at the Camp Perry National Guard Training Base since 1907, is conducted by a partnership between the CMP and Ohio National Guard and showcases a variety of indoor and outdoor events. Both adult and junior athletes are welcome to participate in this century-old tradition.

JROTC Match Nearly Sees Largest All-Time Attendance
The JROTC Three-Position Service Championship series is one of the premier scholastic air rifle matches of the year for Junior ROTC cadets around the country. Each year, the annual sporter and precision air rifle competition, facilitated by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), regularly attracts hundreds of young high school athletes to the range.
Six USA Shooting Athletes Earned International Distinguished Badges in 2022
Six USA Shooting rifle, pistol and shotgun athletes earned prestigious U. S. Distinguished International Shooter Badges in 2022 with international championship performances that gave them the 30 or more International Excellence-in-Competition (IEIC) credit points required to receive the Badge. 2022 honorees included three members of the U. S. Army Marksmanship Unit, two members of the Ohio State University Pistol Team and one athlete who is a gun club manager in Kansas. Two of the six are women. The two youngest are 21 years of age, the oldest is 37 and their average age is 28. Two are rifle athletes, two are shotgun competitors and two are pistol athletes. Three were members of the very successful 2021 USA Olympic Shooting Team.

Smallbore, Air Matches Return to CMP’s 2023 Camp Perry Open
The Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) annual Camp Perry Open is set to resume May 19-22, ready to offer a full schedule of air gun opportunities as well as a corresponding smallbore rifle match – all held at the Camp Perry National Guard Training Facility in Ohio.
