Students from five different states competed in the first-ever SAR Virtual National Tournament held December 12 – 17, 2022. The match was a culmination of hard work, dedication, and commitment by students involved in SAR, many their first time participating in a shooting sport.
“It was exciting to put together this first virtual national tournament and work with the coaches from all across the US.” noted SAR Tournament Manager Lesley Newsom.
Sherri Rawe, Jefferson High School Head Air Rifle Coach trained a team and competed in SAR for the first time.
“Being part of SAR this year has been such a positive experience for our students here at Jefferson High School. The program brought together students from different social circles and demographics that would typically never have become friends, much less shared the same goal and a desire to succeed as a team.” mentioned Rawe.
