WACO, TEXAS – Known for his fun and edgy videos on the Mullet Man YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/mulletman), Mike Owens Jr. of Waco, Texas, recently scored big with a first-ever airgun hunt in Namibia, Africa.
For his record-setting airgun hunt, the ‘Mullet Man’ who was accompanied by his father, Mike Owens, obtained special permission from the Namibia police and the trip concluded with a giant kudu, waterbuck, steenbok and a warthog.
“Our Africa trip was a huge success and I’m very excited that we were the first hunters ever to take big game trophies in Namibia with an airgun,” said Owens, a native of Waco, Texas. “Whether in the United States or abroad, the outdoors has always been a way of life for me and I’m blessed to share this Africa trip with our subscribers on YouTube.”
The hunt featured the Airforce Airgun Texan 457. With the ability to launch .45 caliber projectiles at over 1000 feet per second and generating energy levels of more than 600 foot pounds, the Airforce Airgun Texan takes its place as the world’s most powerful production air rifle. Easy to load and simple to use, this Big Bore air rifle allows hunters to focus on the shot confident in the knowledge they have enough power to get the job done.
Owens’ Mullet Man videos deliver a youthful and unconventional outdoor experience that goes far beyond the typically stale, one-size-fits-all hunting or fishing videos. He cooks and prepares the game animals harvested and he brings these culinary ‘adventures’ to his videos with equal enthusiasm. Even at the young age of 23, he has hunted, fished and surfed in Africa, Arctic Circle, Argentina, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Cayman Islands, Cabo San Lucas, Bermuda, Jamaica and throughout the United States and has traveled to Japan, China, England and France. He has also appeared on several episodes of TNT Outdoor Explosion.
“The outdoors is a true blessing,” adds Owens. “God has provided an amazingly bountiful landscape of fauna, fish and fowl. Eat good.”
