Columbia, MO – Throughout the entire month of October, anyone interested in benefiting youth shooting sports can join the MidwayUSA Foundation’s 2020 Hometown Challenge. This online shoot and sweepstakes gives the entire shooting community an opportunity to compete on a national stage, right from their hometown range. All shooting registrants gain an entry into the sweepstakes for a chance to win over 100 prizes. Additionally, anyone can purchase sweepstakes entries without entering the shooting competition. Every shooter registration and sweepstakes entry doubles as a donation to the MidwayUSA Foundation (Foundation) endowment of the participants choice and will be matched by the Foundation’s current Matching Program.
MidwayUSA Foundation Executive Director G. Scott Reynolds is excited to offer this new event. “Our Hometown Challenge will provide an opportunity for communities and their teams to not only fundraise, but also safely compete with other teams across the nation. I am excited about this fundraising event that will boost youth shooting endowments while simultaneously allowing athletes and their supporters to have some fun on the range.”
The 2020 Hometown Challenge welcomes all ages and features seven different disciplines. Shooting categories include air rifle, air pistol, trap, skeet, smallbore rifle, SASP rimfire pistol, and SASP rimfire rifle. Registration for the shoot and sweepstakes is now open at MidwayUSAFoundation.org/htc. This webpage also provides a mail-in registration form. Each shooter registration and the entry fee is $20 and, again, is a donation to a MidwayUSA Foundation endowment. The deadline to register is October 28. Participants can also submit their scores online throughout the month. Quality prizes, including firearms, ammo, gear, optics, and more will be awarded at the conclusion of the event.
Shooting programs and ranges wishing to promote the 2020 Hometown Challenge are encouraged to download logos and flyers on the MidwayUSA Foundation website. In addition, participants can post and share photos from their local range on social media. Additional details can be found by visiting https://www.midwayusafoundation.org/htc/.
