XVIII Pan American Games (Shooting: 26.07. – 03.08.) · Lima, PER
There were two sets of medals and four Quotas for Tokyo-2020 expecting their holders before the start of second day competitions at the San Rafael shooting range in Lima, Peru. In both events gold and silver medals as well as Olympic quotas were won by athletes from Cuba and the USA.
The first winner of the day was Jorge Grau Potrille from Cuba. He won the dramatic final of the 10m Air
Pistol Men events. The silver medal went to Nickolaus Mowrer from the USA, the bronze – to Julio
Antonio De Souza from Brasil.
Another winner of the day was Sarah Beard from the USA. She achieved the best scores in 50m Rifle 3
Positions Women events. The runner-up was Eglys De la Cruz from Cuba. The bronze medal went to
Virginia Thrasher from the USA. She also obtained the Quota because her compatriot Sarah Beard had
got one already at the 2018 Panamerican Championship in Guadalajara, Mexico.
