CAMP PERRY, Ohio; ANNISTON, Ala. – On Saturday, April 10, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) held the third installment of its Monthly Air Gun Matches for the 2021 season. The matches, featuring air rifle and air pistol events, were fired concurrently at the CMP’s Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center in Ohio and the CMP South Competition Center in Alabama.

The Monthly Match in Alabama stood as host to the Alabama State 3-Position Air Rifle Junior Olympic Championship. Athletes who fired qualifying scores during the event (540 for sporter, 585 for precision) will move on to the National Three-Position Air Rifle CMP/Junior Olympic Championship: June 24-26 for sporter and July 17-19 for precision. Qualifying teams who fired a score of 2,100 for sporter or 2,300 for precision will also move on.

Competitors of the Monthly Matches in both Ohio and Alabama have the opportunity to compete in Three-Position (3×20 or 3×10) Air Rifle or International 60 Shot Air Rifle or Air Pistol. The Monthly Matches are designed to present a safe and engaging venue for those looking to gain valuable competitive experiences on the firing line, all year long.
